Delicatessen
As we have so many products on offer, we think it would be long-winded and far too showy listing them all. We have a few highlighted below. With over 2000 products, we hope you will understand.
With our own on-site kitchen and chef, we are able to produce a tasty array of delicacies such as Smoked Salmon Paté using Loch Fyne’s particular Smoked Salmon with proper crème fraiche, Fresh pesto using the finest olive oil and Scotherbs fresh basil (the leaves only, not the stems!), with only the real Parmesan, to our gluten free and flourless, chocolate cake made with Belgian 71% chocolate.
The only problem you may have is choosing…
We could be here all day tempting you so instead what we thought we’d do for now is give you a Top five of those ‘special’ things we think you absolutely have to try.
Bread
Our baker, James, starts baking for us at 3.00am in the morning so the bread arrives warm and smelling delicious, at around 10.30am to each shop.
Our Granary Loaf seems to be the most popular though we have artisan baguettes and French Country loaves following close behind.
Saturday is the busiest day for Stockbridge and by 11.00am there is usually a queue. Place your order for bread if you are going to arrive later on in the day. We do restrict the number of loaves going out at one time so if you are having a party give us the order at least two days before it is required!
Brie De Meaux
Brie was probably invented, before the Romans invaded France, in Meaux,
about 50kms from Paris. The best are unpasteurised, as ours is, and
our producer has won many gold medals for it. Once matured properly
by us perfection knows no bounds.
Chicken Liver Paté
Herbie is so famous for this paté that it was taken to London and an attempt was made to pass it off as the hostess’ own. She was rumbled by a guest. Smooth, laced with brandy and garlic. It is quite addictive so be careful!
Parma Ham
Properly aged and hung for at least a week in the shop before being sold. Rich and buttery. Perfect wrapped around fresh figs or just savoured on its own.
Aberdeen Angus Top side Rare Roast Beef
Prepared onsite, studded with garlic, cooked to perfection. Sliced thinly, placed in a sandwich, it melts in the mouth.
